These cats will remain in their foster homes but could still use your help. By sponsoring these kitties, your donation goes directly to support their vet care and medications. For information on sponsoring one of our special needs fosters, please email us at sponsoring@gvacrescue.com

About Pearl

Pearl was originally an unclaimed stray – found injured and suffering. She had immediate surgery and had her leg removed and is much happier without it. She is also hyperthyroid and while it it is stabilized, she requires medication – either transdermal cream or pills – twice daily. She has no problems taking it.

Pearl is the sweetest cat I have ever met; she is very affectionate and cuddly. She loves getting her face rubbed and rubbing her face on things. She very much enjoys the company of humans and warms up to anyone right away. She would do best in a home where she didn’t have to be alone for long periods of time.

Pearl had her front leg amputated but she doesn’t let that slow her down (except for maybe walking). Despite her disability, she is a very happy cat and capable of most cat-things (like jumping up and down from the bed). Pearl has an overactive thyroid and requires a medicated cream to be applied to her ears twice a day.

Pearl would be sad if she could not share a bed with her human companion, so would probably do best with someone who isn’t a light sleeper. Sometimes Pearl expresses her love with her teeth and may not be suitable for a home with small children.

Pearl has a lot of love to give. As long as she has food, water, a comfy bed, and gets her face scratched once in a while, she is sure to brighten up any home.

The Story Behind Pearl

About Castle

Castle is very special.

Along with looking like a munchkin cat, Castle is mostly blind.  He has been to see the eye specialist.  He does has some small nutritionally based cataracts from his kitten-hood, these should not cause him any issues.  The vet believes that his retinas are talking, but his brain is unable to process the information properly so that he can only see shadows.

Castle gets around his foster home beautifully.  He can jump onto cat trees now and chases the other kitties around and plays with toys like a sighted kitty.

He is very sweet and loving and will make someone very happy.  He loves cats, dogs, and people equally and will make a great addition to a quiet household – no children please.

He needs a stable home that is predictable and will not change much. Castle does not like it when the furniture moves or there is chaos as he becomes quite confused and upset.

The Story Behind Castle

Castle came to GVAC from another shelter
